I have heard that you can get your false teeth like drilled in to the place you need them. is this true and if so what exactly happens?
I need two false teeth after my braces, What happens and how do they put the false teeth in?
hey there, yes the false teeth are called posts. they look like a real tooth except they have a little sorta like screw type structure (dont be alarmed, i know many people who have had this done) they actually screw/drill it in place and it looks just like a real tooth!! i dont know if they numb you really good or if you have to be put to sleep, i dont remember that part....but i think they also take an xray of your jaw area to make sure nothing is in the way......lots of people have had it, you can google tooth posts......good luck!!!!!I need two false teeth after my braces, What happens and how do they put the false teeth in?
There are many different ways that the dentist can replace the two teeth that are missing.Here are some # bridge work( the false tooth is held in place by the two teeth either side)
# implants ( were a metal implant of a screw is placed in the gum and left for a few months a Specialist will do this part then a ceramic crown is screwed in to place)
# a partial denture ( a mouth plate with false teeth attached)
Your dentist should discuss all options with you and if you don't understand or want to know more tell them, they will be only to happy to help you. Hope this helps.
Depending on your situation, you could have ';implants'; or maybe ';bridge(s).';
Implants, very costly, is where they mount a post (anchor) to the jaw bone and attach a false tooth; you will need a full medical history including current blood work to aide in this oral surgical procedure.
Bridge(s), costly but no where near like an implant. This is where they attach a false tooth to teeth (anchor) already in the mouth. Simply put, it would be tooth(anchor)+false tooth+tooth(anchor)
I've never heard of ';drilling'; a fake tooth in but many people who get fake teeth are made to be removable - not easily though, of course.
Depending on where your teeth are there is a ';cementing'; option that fastens them into your gums so you never need to remove them for activities like swimming or eating.
As long as you don't have loose nerve endings or pieces of your older teeth (and it sounds like you just had no secondary teeth behind your first ';baby'; set), the procedure is rather painless. It a lot of molding and x-rays.
You are probably referring to dental implants. In the current times, these are the best. But those who cannot afford the cost, settle for bridge. The downside of bridge being that two adjacent teeth are also filed. Other than that, take advantage of traveling abroad. High quality dentistry for low cost I saw was possible with Dental Care India Tour where I got the dental procedures done, (www.dentalcare-indiatour.com), and the dentist was most experienced and US trained. Look into your possibility as I am sure your holiday will be for free.
I have had the implant done (where they screw the tooth down into the bone) and I highly recommend it. It is secure and comfortable and feels so natural. I can bite hard using it without worrying about anything wobbling, and I floss it just like my other teeth. However it was VERY expensive.....about $4000 for one tooth. But that was including the extraction, bone grafts, and the crown.
it's really painfull and bloody is all I know.
