True or false: you do not need wrestling skills in WWE if you have mic skills a cool gimmick and charisma?

Think of Randy Orton

The Rock

SCSA, there wrestling skills are good but not the best but people say they are the best because of their gimmicks and mic skillsTrue or false: you do not need wrestling skills in WWE if you have mic skills a cool gimmick and charisma?
To be good in the business you need good wrestling ability.

But to be popular in the business, that's a whole different story.

To succeed in the wrestling industry, yes you do need wrestling ability to a certain extent. Otherwise you simply won't get hired in the first place.

But definitley, mic skills, decent gimmick, and charisma play a HUGE part in being popular in the industry.

To be a hall of famer and a world champion, you need all of those things and much more.

People with just one or two of those things do not succeed and are not future hall of famers and will not be world champions.

For example; Shelton Benjamin. This guy has loads of potential and his in ring ability is really good, he's a pure natural athlete. But I can't see him being a decent world champion or even a world champion because his mic skills are pretty poor and his gimmick sucks.

Santino Marella - This guy has failry good mic skills, his gimmick is quite funny, and he has some charisma. But he won't be a world champion because he has no wrestling ability whatsoever.

But guys like Orton, he has all of it.

The Rock has all of it.

SCSA has all of it.

xTrue or false: you do not need wrestling skills in WWE if you have mic skills a cool gimmick and charisma?
To say that Randy Orton and Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock does not have wrestling skills is ridiculous. Randy Orton and dwayne Johnson were trained by their fathers and trained with ohter professional wrestlers, so I would not say that they do not have wrestling skills. Gimmicks and charisma can only carry you so far in wrestling. If you cannot perform in the ring and have good matches, you will not succeed.
AGREED

Stone cold his wrestling skills wasn't that good but he was loved from 3/4th (if not all of them ) of wrestling fans and his gimmick was pretty good! and His Mic skills was fantastic and he was one of the best wrestling in cutting promos

Shelton Benjamin : he isn't loved , his mic skills sucks but he is one of the most talent wrestlers in the wwe and he has wrestling skills! but he is nothing compared to Stone Cold and The Rock and these wrestlers
Look at the Diva Division: you don't need even mike skills, a cool gimmick, charisma and God knows you don't need wrestling skills.

Mickie James is one of the best divas they ever had; she is sexy--we won't go into specifics, intelligent, great mike skills and is one of the best women wrestlers in the history of the company--and is she properly used--no.
It's very true, and sometimes you need neither skill or charisma. If you have a look that people like, and that Vince McMahon likes, then you'll go far as well. Look no further than botchy performers like Lex Luger, The Great Khali, Chris Masters, or The Ultimate Warrior to see how far a good body can take you in the business.

Then again, another good example of getting over with charisma and little else is Mick Foley. Don't get me wrong, I'm a massive Foley fan, but he's not the greatest wrestler ever, and he's not the best looking guy in the world either, but he can make you care about him, and he can cut some of the best promos out there..

People fail to realize that wrestling has rarely ever been about ACTUAL wrestling, or at least not in the mainstream sense. Wrestling came up in this world a flashy sideshow carney act, and it's done little to evolve from that mentality. The truth of the matter is, you can't make big bucks off of professional wrestling alone. You need to give it heart, a face, and a flashy pyrotechnic show to reach a massive crowd. I'm not saying that it's right, especially to guys like Dean Malenko, Colt Cabana, Jerry Lynn, Nick Bockwinkel, Mike Quackenbush or Johnny Saint who could wrestle circles around 3/4ths of the WWE roster, but will never get a major global spotlight, but it's the nature of the beast. Is there a niche crowd out there for these types of people? Absolutely, but there's a reason ROH and Chikara aren't making big bucks, and it's because they haven't fallen to this trend of name value or body infatuation. For that I tip my hat to them, and thoroughly enjoy them, but it's not going to pay the bills for the performers breaking their butts doing it.
honestly i think its up to the wwe. i mean they pick the wrestlers to push. you get pushed because the audience likes you or really dislikes you, that's what makes a good heel. this usually means you have charisma and decent mic skills. but not necessarily. i mean jeff hardy doesn't have mic skills and the audience love him. rey mysterio can wrestle but hasn't used them much in the wwe and has no mic skills at all, but the kids love him. i think you have a point in that you defiantly don't need to be the best wrestler to make it.
Yes,In WWE, Wrestlers don't need to have the best wrestling skills to be on top, as long as they have a reaction or cool gimmick, they'll be succesful

Like Ultimate Warrior,Hulk Hogan and The Rock

While Wrestlers who didn't have charisma went down like Lance Storm
Close to True.

To become a Main-Event Talent, you should have a mixture of Charisma, Wrestling skills and the Ability to connect to people... The ';It'; factor, as they say...
Of course you don't need wrestling skills to get over the WWE, just as The Ultimate 2 Move Warrior.

Actually Austin's wrestling skills were awesome, until he ****** up his neck.
Hit the nail on the head look how Cena is being treated to Charlie Haas clearly having good ring skills doesn't mean you do well in WWE you need charisma and mic skilld to get noticed
This is true in some cases. you have to remember though that WWE is entertainment based and wrestling skills are not their first priority.
I'm going to have to say true. You need to have those 3 things. The wrestling means last to Wwe.
true but what about santino
The last word in wwe is entertainment, that is not only wrestling skills count.True
True.
Yes You Do.
yes u do even tho most of it is staged u still need the skills to keep it goin
