How many have to come true before they are considered a real prophet?





Do you actually know that only ONE prophecy was ever given that said ';this WILL happen';? Did you know that MOST prophecy is conditional? All through out the bible, there are examples of ';If A happens, then B will happen.'; The ONLY prophecy that has ever been given that wasn't conditional, that has happened, was Christ's birth. His Second Coming has not happened yet, so is that a false prophecy?





Give me an example of a ';false prophecy';.... I will bet you (if I was a betting person) that it is conditional.
Why don't we start with the prophets from the Bible whose prophecies didn't come forth? Would that make them false prophets?





I think you should have the missionaries come over so you can have a sit down with someone.








I'm sorry if I doubt your sincerity but if you look at the way you phrase your questions, it comes off with the impression that you DO have a problem with Mormons and Mormonism. I can guarantee you that if you ask respectably you'll get answers but many LDS on here don't stoop to answering questions from those who come across and arrogant and hateful. All prophecies of God will come true, unless God Himself changes His mind and revokes the prophecy. There are examples of this in the Bible, where this happened. It also happened at least once with a prophecy which came through Joseph Smith. But this doesn't happen very often. You need to be very careful with prophecy, it must be uttered by a prophet, and it should be interpreted by a prophet. That is the Lords way....whew6
I think a 'false prophet' is far more than just a supposed prophet who's prophecies don't seem to come about as spoken. SOme prophets' words were not realized for hundred, thousands of years and some have YET to come about.... so are the prophecy's of Isaiah to be considered FALSE because they have yet to come to pass? NO....





Clearly the implication of calling someone a False Prophet is that they are NOT OF GOD and I think indicators of THAT have far more to do with ';their fruits'; then their prophecies...don't ya think?
Given that many prophecies don't happen within a prophets lifetime, who are you to judge? Isn't it a case of by their work ye shall know them?

Well, please be specific about the prophecy. However, if the person is a true prophet then their prophecies will come true, maybe not in the way we construed them to mean (for example: the prophecy of Jesus Christ that He would raise His temple in three days after it was destroyed...well, the Jews twisted His words to mean the temple in Jerusalem, when the Lord was really speaking about His earthly temple or His body of flesh or His 'tabernacle of clay'. Even at that period the Lord knew of their desire to kill Him and the scribes and pharisees etc. new very well what he meant when he said it or at least they realized it after the fact when they wanted guards placed at the tomb).





However, one could be a false prophet and repent (although I can't think of any examples, I would suppose it is possible)





Technically though it would only take one false prophecy or one intended deception and a refusal to repent or confess their lie to make someone a false prophet.





So how do you know a prophet to be true if we sometimes must wait for the prophecy to be fulfilled?





The Lord Jesus Christ answered this very question, ';by their fruits ye shall know them.'; He also specified the miracles that would follow the believers and true prophets.





Finally, James directed ';if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.'; God will guide, direct, and aid if a man will ';ask in faith, nothing wavering.';





So there you have it.





Oh... and also in the restored church there is order in the kingdom, meaning that no one member can suddenly claim revelation for the whole church because God has already established His mouthpieces at the head of the church. It's similar to the children of Israel hearkening to Moses' words or else they would not receive God's favor, or possibly incur His wrath by trying to lead the people astray.





However, prophets are still human so don't think everything they do and say is inspired unless they specify it is revelation from God.

I need False Nail Help!?

I was applying some fake nails to my natural nails for the first time. I washed my hands, dried them. Then I grabbed some nail glue, I spread the glue on my natural nail, and I placed the fake nail on my natural nail. Everything was fine- but then suddenly, little air bubbles formed under my fake nails, making little cream colored spots, ruining nails. Why does this happen?I need False Nail Help!?
Anytime your applying a solid over your nail, like the plastic press ons, you are inevitably going to have those little air bubbles.





If you want the look of artificial nails, I suggest investing in acrylic or gel nails as the use of a non-solid usually insures that you're not going to get any air bubbles under there. Air bubbles are a big no-no, as they allow a breeding ground for water and bacteria to mesh together and possible contract some sort of fungus.





If you do want press on nails, it's still best to have a professional apply them for you.
